One of over 100 small cuttersuction dredgers commissioned by BIWTA to imprve the inland waterways of Bangladesh. Most of the dredgers wera/are designed by companies such as IHC Holland, Vosta and Ellicott.
Built and launched at 01/10/2019 as "Karnafuly 228" but renamed BIWTA Dredger Piyan at 03/10/2019.
