Founded in 1902.
In 1929 the company invested a great sum in the construction of the 'Canal de Beauharnois' a substantial projest (15 km long, 1000 m wide and 8.25 m diep)200.000,000 m3 over 24 km). The canal was finished in 1959.
In 1932 they got into financial troubles and were taken over by The Montreal Light, Heat & Power Company (MLHP).
