Port Autonome de Douala (PAD)

Founded in 1881 by German cvompany "Woermanline", the organisation has seen several names: "Ports et Voie Navigables" (PVN 1922), Direction des Ports et Voies Navigables du Ministere des Transports. (1960), "Office national des Ports de Cameroon"(ONPC - 1971), and "Port Autonome de Douala". (PAD !1988

The Port Authority of the Autonomous Port of Douala being a Para-Public Establishment, has the Mission of Managing the Coordination of Services Available in Douala-Bonaberi.

In accordance with the law, the Port sells to private sector companies through commercial and industrial offers: handling, management of the container terminal, etc. Since 1999, the Commercial Director of the PAD has actively contributed to competition in port activities.
