About this equipment
The self-propelled bucket dredge "Henri-Boutteville", commisioned in 1925 from Ateliers et Chantiers de Bretagne, for the Port of La Reunion, delivered on site in 1926, sank during the Second World War, in fact sabotaged. It didn't work very well because of the gravel It was replaced by the "Henri Boutteville II"after the war in 1947.
They were both named after the Inspector General of Public Works of the Colonies, in office for 25 years, died in 1924 (born in 1856).
