About this equipment

Saint Genevieve, also named "The Genny" by her crew, was the last steam driven and the last peddlewheel dredger owned by the USACE. After she became redundant and uneconomically, she was donated to the ciy of Davenport (Iowa) to be transferred to a tourist attraction. As this did not materailise as planned, she left Davenport in 1990 for St. Charles (MO) where there were plans to turn her into a museum, but that plan also never materialized. She sank in 1992, was raised and sank again, and was reportedly scrapped in 1994
The vessel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places between 1986 and 2019.
