General information

F. Bowles & Sons started as a haulage business for the supply of aggregates and building materials for the construction industrie. Initially land based transport with a horse and cart, it was not before 1920 that the company could buy a ship and entered into the aggregate dredging industrie. The company expanded further, and got involved in the RMC business in 1950.
In 1962 the company merged with Bristol Sand & Gravel to form British Dredging Co.
