Port Autonome de Douala (PAD)

Founded in 1881 by German cvompany 'Woermanline', the organisation has seen several names: 'Ports et Voie Navigables' (PVN 1922), Direction des Ports et Voies Navigables du Ministere des Transports. (1960), 'Office national des Ports de Cameroon'(ONPC - 1971), and 'Port Autonome de Douala'. (PAD !1988
The Port Authority of the Autonomous Port of Douala being a Para-Public Establishment, has the Mission of Managing the Coordination of Services Available in Douala-Bonaberi.
In accordance with the law, the Port sells to private sector companies through commercial and industrial offers: handling, management of the container terminal, etc. Since 1999, the Commercial Director of the PAD has actively contributed to competition in port activities.
