Founded in the 1600's, the yard became an important employer and economic factor in the community of Zaltbommel.
The yard hardly made it throughthe recessionof the 1930's, and in 1931 the yard came int adminstration. Which could only be finished in 1942. The yard remained operational in this period.
After the company ceased activities in 1942, the yard was possesed by the Germans to build vessels for the Kriegsmarine.
