About this company

General information

Nakskov Shipyard was a shipyard located in Nakskov in westernmost Lolland. The yard was founded in 1916 by Østasiatisk Kompagni, whose founder H.N. Andersen was born in Nakskov. The yard was abandoned as a production yard in January 1987. The plan was for the yard to continue as a rental yard, but the EAC had to abandon that plan. Today, the shipyard has been partially demolished, and some of the buildings are used by Vestas for the production of large wind turbine blades.
