About this company

General information

Founded in 1921 by Alphonse MERRE, the company has a century of experience in river and maritime construction. In 1964, André-Pierre MERRE started “S.E.E. MERRE” on the current site of Nort-sur-Erdre, 25 km north of Nantes. The yard produces a wide variety of river and maritime vessels, including more than a hundred trawlers from 1970 to 1990 and many other work boats. In 1999, under the impetus of André and Alain MERRE, the company took a stake in the MECASOUD shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, which allowed it easier construction of the largest units, taking advantage of the infrastructures of the autonomous port and having direct access to the sea.
Since May 31, 2012, the MERRE shipyard has joined the BMA group headed by Moun BOURJIJ (President) and François MARTIN (General Manager).
