About this equipment
Originally built as "Selskar", a cargo vessel for Irish Motorships Ltd. bjut she was rejected as she did not reach her contracted specification. She was then bought by William Woolaway & Sons, converted to a hopper dredger renamed Ron Woolaway. She entered service in June 1960, just one week later she capsized near Flat Holm Island . All crew could swim ashore. She was later towed to Penarth where she was righted. After this she had "stability" blisters fitted on her sides.
In 1970 she was sold to South Coast Shipping, (now part of RMC Marine) and re-named her Sand Finch in 1970
In 1975 she was sold to Harry Pound of Portsmouth for breaking up. She was however not broken up but sold to the Greek owner P. Paouxis, who renamed her Lucky.
In 1978 she was sold another time to sold to Triaina Shipping Ltd, Piraeus and renamed TRIENA I. In 2001she was deleted from Lloyd's Register as "continued existence in doubt".
